WAR CHILD CANADA CONCERT 2000
On September 16th, 2000, War Child Canada held a free benefit concert in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This first annual War Child Canada concert featured some of Canada's most popular and successful bands, including The Tragically Hip, Chantal Kreviazuk, Angelique Kidio and Maestro. The artists' performances drew a crowd of 80,000 and raised more than $250,000 for war-affected children. The War Child Canada Concert 2000 has been described as "the most successful charitable concert event in Canadian history."
