What’s it like to be there? It’s one thing to read the statistics – it’s another to see with your own eyes, hear with your own ears, and feel with your own heart what is going on. Voices from the Field are the reflections of our overseas partners, musicians, war-affected youth and War Child Canada staff on their experiences living and working in war zones.

These diaries from conflict zones document the thoughts and experiences of those who have witnessed the impact of war first-hand in a personal and insightful manner. You can read about the experiences of courageous women in Afghanistan, War Child Canada staff meeting HIV/AIDS orphans raising their siblings in the absence of their parents, Dr. Samantha Nutt and Dr. Eric Hoskins in Iraq before the latest war, some of SUM 41’s observations from Congo, and other reports from our overseas project areas.
