ROCKED: SUM 41 IN CONGO
In 2004, Canadian rock band Sum 41 traveled to the Democratic Repbulic of Congo (DRC) to film the documentary Rocked: Sum 41 in Congo. Rocked is the story of the war in the DRC and its impact on children, captured through the band’s visit to the war-torn north-eastern region of the country. The band’s journey, which was cut short by an outbreak of violence and an emergency evacuation, offers viewers a close-up view of the impact of this enduring war and its connection to the country’s precious natural resources. During their ten-day trip, band members met with former child soldiers, girls who had been raped by combatants, UN and aid agency officials, and many other Congolese survivors of war.
