What is Keep The Beat? Who doesn’t love music? Keep the Beat is War Child Canada’s high school fundraising campaign designed for you: students. Keep the Beat is as easy as it sounds: a musical event to raise cash for War Child’s international projects that help kids affected by war ! Since 2002, Keep the Beat has raised $600,000. This year marks War Child's 10th anniversary - show your support by organizing the biggest and best Keep the Beat yet at your high school.
How can you Keep The Beat? There are no limits on how to Keep The Beat! The type of musical event is up to you; so that you have the control and creative say about what goes on in your school, cause let’s be honest- you know best. Check out out Leaders Manual for tips and ideas.
Why Keep The Beat? The awareness and funds that you raise through your Keep The Beat event will help War Child Canada provide support to children and their families in conflict and post-conflict communities around the world. War Child Canada is a registered Canadian charity with administrative costs among the lowest in the charitable field. Based on the latest financial statements, more than 90% of funds received have gone directly towards helping children in conflict zones.
You Can Make a Difference…
$1,000 can go towards reconstructing and rehabilitating schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
$500 can support one war-affected household for a year, including education for women and their children, counseling and school support.
$200 can pay for shelter, health care and education for a child who has lost both parents to AIDS in Ethiopia.
$100 can fund the delivery of vocational and livelihood training to war-affected youth in conflict in Darfur.
$50 can support peace building to help improve children’s rights in Uganda, Sri Lanka and Georgia.
